£75m Equity Investment Fund Supports Growth and Scaling Companies in NI
Belfast-based Whiterock Finance has launched a £75 million equity investment fund for growing companies in Northern Ireland.
With a total value of £75 million, the new Growth Capital Fund includes £45 million from the British Business Bank through its Enterprise Capital Funds programme.
The funding is intended to address the existing equity gap in Northern Ireland. It will target businesses with robust management teams and established business models showing high growth potential.
It is anticipated that the fund will invest in up to 20 companies over a five-year period, with capacity for further follow on funding as required. Applications will be accepted from enterprises in Northern Ireland who can demonstrate clear sales growth and routes to market in a wide range of sectors and industries, including:
- Digital.
- ICT and creative.
- Fintech and financial services.
- Life and health sciences.
- Agri-tech.
- Advanced manufacturing and engineering.
The fund manager expects to make investments of between £1 million and £5 million in exchange for minority shareholdings in growth and scaling companies.
