IUK Launches EUREKA: AI and Quantum Technologies Competition
Administered by Innovate UK (IUK), this funding competition has been launched under the EUREKA programme. Through the competition, IUK is funding collaborative research and development (CR&D) projects focused on industrial research in artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technology and quantum sensing.
Projects must aim to develop:
innovative products;
technology-based applications; and/or
technology-based services with high market potential in the participating countries and/or throughout Europe.
Projects must focus on industrial research and the proposal must have a civilian purpose.
IUK has allocated up to £1 million to fund innovation projects in this competition. Total eligible project costs per project are a maximum of €400,000.
A UK-based business of any size can lead a project. It should collaborate with at least one business from the EUREKA Network in AI and Quantum participating countries, which must be a separate non-linked legal entity to the UK partners. These countries are: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, South Korea and Turkey.
Applicants can also collaborate with other UK-based businesses of any size and UK-based research organisations.
The competition is now open with a deadline for Registrations of 24 June 2019 and a closing date for full applications of 1 July 2019.
