£1m Digital Innovation Fund (COVID-19 Recovery) for West of England SMEs
The Digital Innovation Fund is a £1 million coronavirus recovery fund, providing free support and grants for West of England businesses that are seeking to innovate during these turbulent times.
The scheme will help businesses with ideas to solve new challenges created by the pandemic and create new employment opportunities. There is emphasis on innovative digital products, processes and services.
Eligible businesses will be awarded innovation grants from £10,000 to £40,000 to fund 35% of project costs.
The scheme is open to firms in any sector that want to innovate and address new challenges that have arisen from COVID-19. Applicants must be small or medium-sized enterprises and based in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire.
The scheme is focused on research and development (R&D) and supports projects that incorporate an attempt to achieve a scientific or technological advance of some kind. Capital purchases (excluding buildings/land) and training fees are also likely to be eligible, as long as they directly relate to R&D being carried out.
