Entries Open for Art Fund’s Museum of the Year
This prize aims to identify the finest museums and galleries in the UK.
The Museum of the Year Art Fund Prize aims to recognise and stimulate originality and excellence in museums and galleries and increase public appreciation and enjoyment of all they have to offer.
In the wake of COVID-19, the funder believes it is more important than ever to champion the UK’s museums, and is seeking applications from organisations whose achievements tell the story of the creativity and resilience of the sector over the past year.
The prize awards £15,000 to each finalist and £100,000 to the winner. Recipients are not required to explain how they will use the money. It is awarded simply on the understanding that it will be spent to the benefit of audiences.
The judges are keen to hear from all kinds of organisations, no matter their shape, size or location, whether they have a collection or not, or whether or not they opened a physical space to the public in the last year.
The Prize is open to all museums and galleries in the United Kingdom.
The deadline for applications is 1 June 2021 (12:00 BST).
