Funding for Faith Groups Supporting Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Scotland
Local faith groups that are registered as charities in Scotland can apply for funding to for projects and activities that welcome refugees and asylum seekers and help them to integrate into community life.
Faith in Community Scotland, partnered with Scottish Faiths Action for Refugees, is offering grants of up to £500 to faith groups to support activities that welcome refugees and asylum seekers into Scotland, helping to integrate into community life, wherever they are coming from and for whatever reason. The Faithful Welcome Small Grants Programme will enable groups to support meaningful two-way integration through the building of relationships and the provision of resources to organise events, offer hospitality, and get new ideas off the ground.
Funding is available for local action around the following themes:
- Offering Hospitality (eg costs of community meals and social events bringing people together).
- Easing integration (eg costs of interpreting services or running language classes).
- Enabling participation (eg skill-sharing activities such as gardening, sewing, cooking, providing bus passes for travel etc).
Groups should demonstrate how refugees and asylum seekers have been involved in planning and delivering their proposed work.
The deadline for the first round of applications is 27 May 2022.
