Channel 4 and Lloyds Announce Support for Black Businesses through TV Advertising
This initiative is intended to boost Black-owned businesses with TV advertising, coupled with access to mentoring, masterclasses and resources to accelerate growth.
Developed by Channel 4 and Lloyds Bank, the Black in Business initiative aims to scale and grow Black-owned businesses through the power of television advertising. With a focus on fostering innovation and success within the Black business community, the scheme offers an opportunity for qualifying firms to unlock their full potential and thrive.
Up to five businesses funded with £100,000 worth of advertising spend on Channel 4, plus the creation of their own bespoke TV commercial, and six months’ worth of marketing and business mentorship.
A further five businesses that show potential will be shortlisted as Black in Business Rising Stars, and will receive a package of support including £3,000 grant funding, tailored consulting and promotional opportunities.
Black-owned businesses based in the UK that are new to TV advertising may apply. At least 50% of the founding team must identify as Black. The businesses must offer consumer-facing products and services, including digital apps and online experiences. Their products must be in the market for at least six months from date of application.
The deadline for applications is 26 June 2023 (16:00 BST).
