Civil Society Grant Programme for Democratic Transformation Initiatives Across Ireland
A funding programme designed to support ‘high energy democracy’ initiatives across the island of Ireland is accepting applications.
Funding is available to community groups across the island of Ireland to support initiatives that harness the power of civil society to transform democratic decision-making processes.
The Civil Society Grant Programme provided by St Stephen’s Green Trust is inviting applications to support groups in contributing to a ‘high energy democracy’ by engaging in participative and deliberative democracy initiatives.
The funding is intended to enable the development of progressive platforms for collective power and influence, using values-based approaches to identify elements of transformative change, and creating inclusive spaces for participation and voice, particularly for marginalised communities.
The funding may be used to support projects and activities that:
- Prioritise learning.
- Incorporate the voice of those most affected in the design and delivery of outcomes.
- Aim to build lasting relationships at both horizontal and vertical levels.
- Have a clear vision of their intended achievements.
Groups can apply for grants of up to £12,500 (€15,000) for work taking place over 12 to 18 months between November 2023 and April 2025.
The deadline for applications is 14 September 2023 (4pm).
