Pathways Fund Launches to Boost Entrepreneurship in Scotland
The Pathways Fund has been established to encourage and support entrepreneurship in Scotland, helping individuals start, grow, and scale their businesses. This initiative is particularly focused on reaching people who might not typically consider entrepreneurship, aiming to foster new entrepreneurial talent and broaden participation among historically under-represented groups, with a specific emphasis on closing the gender gap.
The programme offers funding for projects ranging from £50,000 to £250,000. These projects must provide entrepreneurial support and advice, particularly targeting primary carers and under-represented groups. The fund is designed to support initiatives at various stages of development, including pre-start, pre-growth, and pre-investment.
Eligible projects may include a variety of activities aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial skills and networks. These could involve providing start-up incubation services, developing training resources, offering access to business networks and mentors, enhancing digital business skills, facilitating peer learning and networking, and providing shared access to resources and equipment. Additionally, the fund will support projects that offer advice and assistance on accessing funding and investment.
Organisations registered in the UK and operating in Scotland may apply. These organisations must be solvent, have control over their income and expenditure, and possess a UK bank account.
By providing this support, the Pathways Fund aims to create a more inclusive and diverse entrepreneurial landscape in Scotland, encouraging innovation and economic growth across the country.
