Applications Open for PAWB Fund to Support Young Welsh Footballers
PAWB Fund, an initiative from the Football Association of Wales designed to provide a flexible and inclusive playing offer and make football accessible and affordable for people from different socioeconomic backgrounds, is inviting applications ahead of the 2024/25 season.
The fund can be applied for by or on behalf of any football player living in Wales aged 5-18, to support them with accessing football opportunities and/or equipment.
The following items are eligible for support through the fund:
- Grassroots club membership fees.
- Playing/club kit.
- Football boots.
- Shin pads.
- Goalkeeper gloves.
- Sport hijabs.
- Impairment specific equipment, eg sports goggles.
- Travel costs, eg train, bus or taxi costs to training and match venues.
Clubs, schools, social services and other community organisations can apply for the fund on behalf of recipients.
Funding is at the discretion of PAWB Fund. For reference, the first PAWB Fund panel of 2023 awarded a total of £11,250 to support 99 players and 37 clubs/organisations across all areas of Wales.
