NHS North East and North Cumbria ICB – Building the Right Support: Annual Health Checks Fund

Grants are available to third sector organisations that specialise in working with adults with learning disabilities and or autism to improve the uptake of annual health checks in Allerdale, Carlisle and Eden.
The Fund aims to support:
- Improved health outcomes of individuals with a learning disability over the age of 14.
- Work with individuals, families, carers and schools to increase the uptake of annual health checks from 68% to over the national target of 75% in North Cumbria.
- Education to the above to increase the knowledge about the importance of annual health checks.
- Promote the use of Health Action Plans linked to the Annual Health Check.
- Identification of barriers to people engaging in annual health checks and seek solutions.
- Secure active and sustained engagement with statutory and community services, where necessary.
- Projects with a sustainable plan to improve the uptake of assessments beyond March 2026.
