Scotland Initiative Seeks Digital Innovations for Energy Companies
Grants of up to £50,000 are available to support digital companies in Scotland that can develop solutions to address existing challenges in the energy industry. The initiative is led by Scottish Enterprise in collaboration with the Net Zero Technology Centre and the Digital Trust Taskforce.
The funding is part of a two-phase application process. In Phase One, energy companies of any size can apply to present industry challenges that require digital solutions. In Phase Two, starting in May 2025, small or medium-sized digital enterprises will be invited to apply for funding to develop and implement solutions for these challenges. Successful applicants from both phases will collaborate on proof-of-value projects lasting between three and six months.
Funding will support the development of digital solutions related to data sharing, asset tracking and environmental, social and governance (ESG) compliance. Eligible expenditure includes tracking asset performance, emissions monitoring and reporting, and workforce training data. Energy companies must commit resources and financial support to the project, participate in workshops and contribute to a final case study.
