Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme Y10 Phase 1 Competition

Closing Date: 11/02/2026

UK registered academic institutions can apply for funding to join the Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme (CyberASAP).

The Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme (CyberASAP) supports the commercialisation of cyber security research originating from UK universities. It provides targeted support to help identify and develop commercially viable opportunities arising from academic research within the digital technologies sector.

The programme invests in innovative projects focused on cyber security, defined as the protection of information systems, associated data and services from unauthorised access, harm or misuse. Applications must outline the research area, the problem being addressed and the proposed solution.

CyberASAP is an 11 month programme and represents phase 1 of a potential two phase competition. Phase 1 runs for up to four months and is split into two stages covering value proposition development and market validation. This phase is used to assess commercial potential and determine appropriate routes to market. Support is provided by industry experts, including specialists in cyber security.

Applications are encouraged that address challenges such as operational technology security and resilience, software supply chain security and resilience including cloud services, and emerging technologies such as AI in cyber security, drones and robotics. Other cyber security challenges, including online harms, are also eligible.
