Poultry Biosecurity Review Grant
Closing Date: 30/09/2028
Funding is available for veterinary-led biosecurity reviews on poultry farms in England for keepers of at least 1,000 chickens or 500 ducks, geese or turkeys, subject to registration with an SBI linked to CPH numbers.
The Poultry Biosecurity Review (PBR) grant supports veterinary surgeon-led reviews and advice aimed at improving biosecurity on eligible poultry farms. It forms part of the Animal Health and Welfare Pathway and is delivered through the “Get funding to improve animal health and welfare” service.
The purpose of the scheme is to assess existing biosecurity protocols and practices on poultry holdings, identify potential disease incursion risks and provide veterinary recommendations for improvement. The grant is intended to help reduce the incidence of disease on poultry farms, including avian influenza, and to support improvements in animal health, welfare and productivity.
The review includes an advisory visit, a biosecurity assessment, professional veterinary advice, a written report and a veterinary summary of the visit. Each single business identifier (SBI) is eligible for one agreement, which may cover multiple poultry sites and eligible species within the same business.
Applicants must apply for an agreement and check eligibility before proceeding. The scheme is available to poultry keepers and sits alongside similar animal health and welfare review funding for cattle, pig and sheep farmers.
