ORE Catapult: North East Offshore Wind Innovation and Demonstration – NEOWIND
Grants are available to businesses in the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority area to develop innovative technologies, products and services that strengthen the offshore wind supply chain.
This competition supports existing and transitioning supply chain companies within the North East MSA area to strengthen their market position by improving competitiveness and developing innovative technologies, products and services for the offshore wind sector.
Funding is available for projects that demonstrate innovation, encourage research and private investment in the North East and deliver commercially relevant solutions for offshore wind. Eligible projects must align with one or more of the programme’s innovation themes, including project development and consenting, decarbonisation and circularity, robotics and autonomous systems, digital and AI-enabled operations, smart ports, subsea cable technologies, transmission and energy systems, health and safety, infrastructure security and cross-sector technology transfer.
Projects must demonstrate business growth potential, a clear commercial opportunity within the offshore wind sector and plans to develop and exploit new technologies, services or intellectual property. Applicants must also show how project outcomes will be exploited within or from the North East MSA region, provide appropriate match funding and demonstrate that the project requires grant support to proceed. Projects that have already received grant funding for the same scope and intended outcomes are not eligible.
