Applications Invited for Welsh Projects Improving Peatland and Habitats

Natural Resources Wales is offering grants to community, private and public sector organisations for projects aimed at reversing habitat loss and improving peatland conditions across Wales.

The funding supports activities under the National Peatland Action Programme priorities, such as addressing peatland erosion, drainage and sustainable management. Projects must contribute to the annual target of restoring 1,800 hectares of peatland in Wales. Eligible applicants include registered charities, public sector bodies, private individuals and higher education institutions.

Grants ranging from £10,000 to £250,000 are available, with match funding such as cash contributions or volunteer time viewed favourably. Grants can be used to help meet the cost of restoration work, staff expenses, technical design and landowner engagement.
