Feasibility Study Support for Zero Emission Vehicle Manufacturing in the UK
UK businesses can apply for funding through the DRIVE35 Scale-up: Feasibility Studies Competition, aimed at supporting the development of strategically important technologies for the automotive industry. The competition is part of the Government’s wider DRIVE35 programme, which contributes to the UK’s transition to zero emission vehicles and a net zero automotive sector.
The funding supports feasibility studies that explore the creation or conversion of manufacturing facilities for eligible on-vehicle technologies. These include zero-emission vehicle assembly and technologies within the associated supply chain.
Eligible areas of focus include battery and supercapacitor systems, electric machines, driveline systems, power electronics including Vehicle to Everything (V2X), lightweighting, hydrogen storage, fuel cell systems and internal combustion engine systems for off-road applications using non-fossil fuels.
To lead a project, applicants must be UK registered businesses of any size. All project work must be carried out in the UK, and applicants must intend to exploit the results within the UK.
Funding is intended to help organisations develop detailed plans, business cases and investment cases that encourage future investment into the UK’s low-emission vehicle manufacturing capabilities.
