January Deadline for Vale of Glamorgan Festival’s Farewell Support Programme for Welsh Composers

Funding is available to support projects that showcase the work of Welsh and Wales-based contemporary classical composers. The initiative aims to foster collaborations between composers and performers, offering a platform for bold and innovative music.

The funding, with grants ranging from £2,000 to £6,000, marks a farewell gesture from the Vale of Glamorgan Festival, which concluded after over 55 years of championing contemporary composers and fostering international partnerships. The grants will be administered by Ty Cerdd on behalf of the Festival.

A total fund of approximately £23,000 is available, with expectations of one or two larger awards and several smaller grants. Eligible applicants include individual composers born in Wales or based in Wales for at least a year, as well as organisations.

Supported projects must take place between 1 April 2025 and 31 December 2026.
