Launch of Community Pharmacy System Innovation Fund (UK)
Grants are available for UK registered businesses to develop the systems required to digitalise a community pharmacy in Wales.
The Community Pharmacy System Innovation Fund supports projects which aim to develop and implement changes to community pharmacy systems, enabling electronic prescription services (EPS) in a Wales-based pharmacy.
The scheme has an option to support projects which develop and implement changes to community pharmacy systems that will result in a paperless journey, and/or push notifications to the NHS Wales app in a Wales-based pharmacy setting.
Grants of up to £111,562 are available through three tiers of funding: Tier 1 – up to £55,781; Tier 2 – up to £27,891; Tier 3 – up to £27,891.
Funding is for the development work required to develop both EPS itself (tier 1), as well as innovation towards paperless pharmacy processes (tier 2) and integration with the NHS Wales app (tier 3).
The grants are for revenue expenditure directly related to the project, eg staff time, consumables, software etc.
UK registered businesses that are already supplying community pharmacy systems in Wales or have the potential to supply these systems can apply.
The programme is open to applications until October 2024.
