National Lottery Community Fund Offering Support for Windrush 75 Applications (England)
Funding to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the arrival of Windrush.
Though it is now too late to apply for funding in time for Windrush Day itself, groups are still encouraged to apply for grants to commemorate Windrush throughout the year.
As some may wish to carry out their Windrush celebrations during Black History Month in October 2023, NLCF has provided a blog detailing how best to strengthen this kind of application which can be found on its website.
Windrush proposals must comply with the standard NLCF Awards for All guidelines. This means applications will be accepted from voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) groups, schools and statutory bodies in England with a focus on those with a smaller annual income.
Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are available for up to one year for projects that:
- Involve people and communities from the start.
- Build on people’s strengths.
- Are connected in their community.
In June 2023, the NLCF is delivering online application clinics to support organisations applying for Windrush 75 funding.
Groups must apply at least 12 weeks before the project is due to commence.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
