New Funding to Support Glasgow 2026 Community Projects Across Scotland

National Lottery support to help communities get active and create local celebrations for Glasgow 2026

Announced on 25 March 2026, the funding forms part of the wider National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) Awards for All programme and includes an additional £2.2 million to support local sports, arts and cultural initiatives inspired by the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

This investment is made up of £1 million from the National Lottery Community Fund, £1 million from Sport Scotland and £200,000 from Creative Scotland, ensuring communities benefit from the excitement and legacy of the Games.

The fund aims to support projects that get people active, strengthen community connections and create local celebrations. Activities should help increase access to arts or sports, promote wellbeing, celebrate cultural diversity and build a lasting legacy beyond 2026.

Grants of up to £10,000 over 12 months are available.

Applications are welcome from a wide range of not‑for‑profit organisations, including voluntary groups, registered charities, constituted clubs, Community Interest Companies, schools and statutory bodies.

Before applying, groups must contact the NLCF to discuss their project.
