Scotland’s Voluntary Sector Development Fund Accepting Applications for 2025/26

Grants of up to £24,000 are available to voluntary sector organisations in Scotland that provide social services to contribute to the costs associated with meeting the required registration qualification criteria set by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The funding is available through the Voluntary Sector Development Fund, provided by the Scottish Government and administered by the SSSC.

To be eligible, organisations must be:

  • Registered charities.
  • Registered with the Care Inspectorate.

Funding can be used to support SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6 and 7 qualifications up to a maximum of £1,200 per worker. Training should commence after 1 January 2026, with qualifications completed within 24 months. Funding can be used to support qualifications for support workers, practitioners and supervisors (practice qualification only) in:

  • Housing support services.
  • Care home services for adults.
  • Care at home service.

In this round, applications are encouraged from small and medium-sized organisations, as well as for Level 7 qualifications, to support supervisors who have had an extension to their qualification condition and still need to gain their practice qualification.
