SSEN Regional Community Benefit Fund to Reopen on 20 August (Northern Scotland)

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Transmission has announced the second round of its Regional Community Benefit Fund.

Funding is available to constituted community organisations, not-for-profit organisations, and registered charities operating in the SSEN Transmission area in the North of Scotland. The Community Benefit Fund forms part of SSEN Transmission’s planned £20 billion investment in the network by 2030.

SSEN Transmission anticipates that the value of future community funds will exceed £100 million. The Community Benefit Fund has two funding streams:

  • A Regional Fund for strategic projects in the North of Scotland.
  • A Local Fund for communities situated near SSE infrastructure.

A total of £2 million is available in this round, with grants ranging between £40,000 and £500,000.

The Regional Fund aims to support strategic projects focused on employability, community development, culture, and alleviating fuel poverty.
