Support Available for Projects Strengthening Semiconductor Supply Chain in South Wales

Grants are available to UK-registered businesses undertaking projects that support the growth of the semiconductor supply chain in South Wales. The support is offered through the CSconnected Supply Chain Development Programme and is open to businesses operating within or linked to the Cardiff Capital Region.

The scheme is intended to boost job creation and economic growth by encouraging activity in the compound semiconductor sector. Projects must benefit the Cardiff Capital Region and be led by a limited company. Businesses outside the region may apply if a clear regional benefit can be demonstrated.

Grants of up to £50,000 are available, covering up to 50% of project costs. Micro businesses may receive up to 70% for the first £30,000 of costs, with the possibility of a blended rate up to the maximum value. Applicants must provide the remaining costs from other sources.

Eligible costs may include equipment purchase and installation, product or service qualification and activities that support the relocation of suppliers to the region. Applicants must not be a Primary Cluster Organisation.

The programme is targeted at suppliers and buyers within the compound semiconductor sector, including those in manufacturing, engineering, chemical supply, software and end-market system integration.
