Sustainable Ventures Launches Net Zero Home Programme
Sustainable Ventures has partnered with Schneider Electric to pioneer a collaborative approach to achieve the ‘Net Zero Home’ of the future. Through the Net Zero Home Programme, the funders are looking for leading entrepreneurs to work with them to turn this vision into a reality.
Through collaboration with the funders, the aim is that businesses will be able to help scale-up and achieving mass-market deployment of cutting-edge sustainability innovations. A net zero building is one that is highly efficient and produces at least as much renewable energy as it consumes.
The home of the future is markedly different from what exists today – mainly driven by rapid technology development and sustainability ambitions. The ideal Net Zero Home will be smarter, connected and more efficient than ever.
Companies that successfully make it through the selection phase will work with Sustainable Ventures over a period of three months during Phase 1 to design and cost trials, before putting their business case forward for trial funding to Schneider Electric.
Sustainable Ventures will give companies membership access to a Sustainable Workspaces site (Bankside, London) complete with coworking space, event space and testing facilities. Successful companies will also receive a £5,000 cash grant to remunerate them for their involvement in this first phase.
Leading UK start-ups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Net Zero Home and plant to plug space are eligible.
The deadline for applications is 17 June 2020.
