Wales and Africa Programme Funding for Health, Learning, Climate Change and Sustainable Livelihoods
Funding is available for community groups and organisations in Wales to support small-scale projects that contribute to Wales’ delivery of UN Sustainable Development Goals and deliver benefits to Wales and Africa.
Applications are invited to Round 3 of the Wales and Africa 2022-25 scheme for community groups and organisations in Wales to access funding for small-scale projects that deliver benefits to Wales and Africa.
The Wales and Africa Grant Scheme is a flagship initiative of Welsh Government’s Wales and Africa programme. Funding is available for projects that address at least one of the following four themes:
- Health – projects that contribute to protecting the mental and physical health and wellbeing of communities in Africa.
- Lifelong Learning – projects that support individuals or groups of young people or adults in Wales and/or Africa to develop new skills and knowledge.
- Climate Change and Environment – initiatives that reduce environmental degradation and biodiversity loss in Africa as well as strategic and practical work to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and to protect people from the impacts of climate change on food supplies, water availability or safety.
- Sustainable Livelihoods – initiatives that seek to promote realistic and sustainable livelihood opportunities in Wales and Africa, ensuring that marginalised individuals are included in grassroots economic and social development.
Constituted organisations in Wales may apply. This includes voluntary and community organisations, registered charities, community interest companies and companies limited by guarantee, private limited companies, community councils, town councils, and local authorities.
Grants of between £1,000 and £25,000 are available.
The deadline for applications to Round 3 of the Wales and Africa 2022-25 scheme is 24 March 2023.
