Welsh Government Funding to Support Innovative Approaches to Democratic Participation
Funding is available to community organisations and local authorities in Wales to support projects designed to improve democratic engagement.
Welsh Government is offering £300,000 in funding through the Democratic Engagement Grant to support the participation of under-represented, newly enfranchised and disabled people in democracy.
Charities, local authorities and other not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for a share of the funding, which aims to ensure that as many people as possible are engaged, motivated and empowered to take part in the democratic process.
Grants are intended to support projects that either build on work that has already demonstrated impact, or those that have an innovative approach to overcoming identified barriers to participation from under-represented groups.
Applications that propose partnership and collaborative working are welcomed, and all successful applicants will additionally join the Welsh Democratic Engagement Partnership.
The deadline for applications is 3 February 2023.
