Grants for Welsh Farmers with New Ideas for Sustainability
The Try-out Fund has been created to support farmers in Wales with ideas that could help their business and the wider Welsh agricultural industry to become more sustainable.
The Fund aims to address specific local problems or opportunities with the aim of improving efficiencies and profitability within agricultural businesses, whilst protecting the environment. Applicants are encouraged to explore ideas that could benefit their farm, allowing them to tackle ‘real’ problems or check if a research idea works in practice on the farm.
Grants will not exceed £5,000 per project. The funding can be used for technical assistance, sampling, testing and other reasonable expenses such as those relating to short term hire of specialist equipment or facilities relating to the project.
Individuals or groups of up to four farming business and growers in Wales who have identified a local or specific problem or opportunity may apply. Participating farmers will be expected to provide items such as land, stock and their time at no cost to the project.
