Creative Communities Grants Available Across Wales

Arts Council of Wales grants support collaborative projects led by community-based organisations

The Arts Council of Wales is offering grants through its Creative Communities Programme for small-scale projects that reflect Wales’ cultural, linguistic and social diversity.

The initiative focuses on the process of creating together rather than solely on a finished product. It is intended for groups embedded in their communities, particularly those in areas with limited arts provision or those under-represented in the Arts Council of Wales’ existing awards.

Grants range from £500 to £1,500. Applicants must be formally constituted as a company limited by guarantee, registered charity, charitable incorporated organisation, community interest company or unincorporated association.

Priority will be given to not-for-profit volunteer and community groups in Wales that have not previously received support. The scheme is aimed at organisations with a direct connection to the communities involved in the proposed activity.

Eligible projects may include creative workshops, community murals, music-making, dance sessions, photography projects and bilingual theatre. Sessions must be led by an experienced artistic collaborator.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Organisations must allow at least eight weeks between submitting an application and the project’s planned start date.
