Grants for UK Innovators Developing Climate Solutions – New Round Open

The Future Frontiers Fund supports the creation of innovative ideas, technologies, products and services aimed at addressing challenges related to climate change, protecting the environment, and achieving a net zero future.

The funding is intended to enable participants to develop their ideas towards validating a ‘proof of concept’.

Example areas to explore include:

  • Technical viability, including modelling, or component/early prototype development.
  • Market need and potential for end user uptake.
  • A viable business model.

Grants of approximately £10,000 per project will be awarded for projects of up to six months. In addition, participants will receive support from Cranfield University which includes up to four days of mentoring.

The fund is open to UK-based SMEs, start-ups and spinouts, sole traders, individual entrepreneurs, academics and students with early-stage ideas (TRL 1-3) from research institutions and the Further Education/Higher Education sector.

Grants can be used for equipment, consumables, third-party services, and travel and subsistence.
