IUK Announces Infrastructure Solutions for Zero Emission Vehicles Competition
Administered by Innovate UK (IUK) this competition will fund innovative infrastructure solutions that support the transition to zero emission vehicles (ZEV) in line with the Government’s transport decarbonisation ambitions.
This competition seeks to support feasibility studies and research and development projects that address one or more of the following infrastructure challenges:
Improve public residential charging in urban areas.
Improve rural charging.
Improving fleet charging solutions.
Enhance the ZEV user charging experience.
IUK has allocated up to £10 million to fund innovation projects in this competition. Each project’s total eligible costs must be between £300,000 and £800,000.
The competition is open to collaborative projects only. To lead a project the organisation must be a UK registered business of any size. The lead should collaborate with other businesses, academic institutions, research organisations, or research and technology organisations (RTOs), not-for-profits or public sector organisations.
Projects may include end users or infrastructure owners, such as local authorities and fleet operators (public and private), and stakeholders such as distribution network operators (DNOs), infrastructure providers, energy providers, hardware and software providers.
The competition opens on Monday 15 March 2021 with a closing date of Wednesday 21 April 2021 (11:00 BST).
