Marine Fund 2026/27 Opens in Scotland for Environmental and Fishing Initiatives

The fifth year of the programme delivers on the Blue Economy Vision

Applications are open for the first 2026/27 round of Marine Fund Scotland, which supports projects aligned with the Scottish Government’s Blue Economy Vision. The fund is aimed at improving sustainability within the marine and coastal sectors.

Eligible applicants include individuals, businesses, organisations and communities operating in areas such as commercial fishing, aquaculture, seafood processing, ports, harbours and environmental protection. The fund can also support activities linked to recreational fishing and marine-related research.

Funding support is awarded at the discretion of the Scottish Government, with the possibility of requiring match funding depending on the size of the applicant and value of the grant. Applications must relate to Scotland, the Scottish zone or Scottish fishing vessels.

Grants may be used for a range of activities, including improving safety and training in fishing and aquaculture, developing sustainable seafood supply chains, and promoting marine environmental conservation. Eligible costs can also include activities that support social or economic development in fishing communities.
