Funding to help sports clubs in Wales invest in energy‑efficient facilities

For a fourth year, Sport Wales will help sports clubs save money by becoming more energy efficient.

Not-for-profit sports clubs and community groups in Wales can apply for grants of up to £25,000.

Clubs must own their facility or have a minimum of a 7-year lease on the building.

Examples of eligible projects include:

  • More energy-efficient and eco-friendly heating systems
  • Better insulation
  • Solar panels and storage batteries
  • LED lights and movement sensors
  • Sustainable water harvesting systems

Successful applicants must contribute a minimum of 20% of the project total costs.

Funding is for projects that are able to start by 31 March 2027.

The window for Expressions of Interest will open on 21 May 2026 and close on 29 June 2025 (17:00).
