Grants to Support Investment in England’s Tree Production Sector

The Tree Production Capital Grant is offering financial support to UK-based tree nurseries and seed suppliers seeking to improve, expand, automate or mechanise their operations. The grant aims to boost the productivity and resilience of the domestic tree production sector in support of legally binding targets to increase woodland cover in England.

A total of £2 million is available for the 2025-2026 financial year. Applicants can seek funding for up to 50% of project costs, with grant values ranging from £5,000 to £175,000. Projects must have a minimum total cost of £10,000 to qualify.

Funding is available to a range of applicants including private and public sector organisations, environmental NGOs, community tree nurseries and new entrants to the tree production sector. Eligible businesses must supply or plan to supply trees or tree seed to England.

Supported costs include machinery, infrastructure, irrigation systems, cold stores, biosecurity equipment and nursery management software. Personnel costs related to implementation and one-off software purchases are also eligible.

The deadline for applications is 25 June 2025 (23:59).
