Funding for Pre-Screening Tests of Sustainable Aviation Fuels in the UK

UK-registered organisations can now apply for support through the Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) Clearing House Testing Grant. The scheme is intended to aid the commercial deployment of innovative fuel production technologies that have the potential to reduce near-term emissions from UK aviation.

A total of £400,000 is available. There is no specified minimum or maximum award per applicant. Grants will assist with costs related to pre-screening and qualification testing of fuels against the ASTM D7566 standard. The testing must be completed by 27 February 2026.

Eligible applicants include companies of any size as well as academic institutions. The funding is aimed at strengthening the national project pipeline and encouraging a range of technological approaches to SAF development.

Applications are assessed on a first come, first served basis until the full budget is committed.
