The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) has announced that on 9 September 2026 the maximum amount for the People and Places Fund will be increased as follows:

• Medium grants will rise from £100,000 to £150,000.
• Large grants will rise from £500,000 to £700,000.

The funding supports capital and revenue costs for projects lasting up to five years.

Not-for-profit community organisations based in Wales can apply for funding for projects that align  with at least one of the following four missions for this Fund, which are to:

• Support communities to come together.
• Help children and young people to access resources and experiences that help them thrive.
• Enable people to live healthier lives.
• Be environmentally sustainable.

Applicants must demonstrate how their project will:

• Involve their community in the project development, design and delivery.
• Build on the skills, experiences and strengths of their community.
• Understand what organisations, activities or services are already available in their community, and how their work will fill the gap.
• Be designed with consideration for its impact on the environment.
