New Fund Launched to Support Men’s Mental Health in York and North Yorkshire

Grants are available to not-for-profit organisations, SMEs and educational institutions in York and North Yorkshire for projects aimed at improving men’s mental health.

The Men’s Mental Health Investment Programme, provided and administered by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, has been launched in response to high rates of suicide and underdiagnosis of mental health conditions among men.

The programme seeks to strengthen wellbeing, reduce pressure on care services and improve workplace sickness levels. A total of £715,000 is available, with grants of between £3,000 and £30,000 for work delivered from March 2026 to February 2028.

Eligible applicants include VCSE organisations such as charities, social enterprises and community interest companies, as well as parish councils, SMEs with fewer than 250 employees and educational institutions. Projects must be based in York and North Yorkshire and may involve individual or collaborative applications.

Revenue support is available for activity that promotes strengths-based approaches, tackles stigma and reaches diverse or isolated groups including those in rural areas, men affected by trauma and men from ethnically diverse backgrounds.

Examples of eligible activity include nature-based programmes, mobile outreach, peer mentoring, workplace wellbeing activity, digital service development and engagement initiatives and online services.

The deadline for applications is 2 January 2026.
