New Funding to Support Equality and Inclusion Activities in Wales

Third sector organisations in Wales can apply for funding to deliver activities that raise awareness of and support equality and inclusion in communities.

The Equality and Inclusion Grants Programme is a new scheme provided and administered by the Welsh Government.

The programme aims to support people with protected characteristics and advance the Welsh Government’s National Equality Objectives 2024 to 2028.

Funding is available through two strands:

  • Awareness and Engagement grants offer between £2,000 and £9,999 for smaller projects and between £10,000 and £100,000 for larger initiatives.
  • Innovation grants range from £40,000 to £200,000 to support collaborative projects that introduce new ways of addressing inequality and strengthening inclusion at community, local, or regional levels.

Eligible applicants include third sector organisations such as charities, social enterprises, and community groups. Local authorities and other public bodies may also be involved as collaborators. Grants can be used to establish new initiatives or to strengthen existing awareness and engagement work with protected groups.
