Welsh Water Community Fund Accepting Applications

Welsh Water Funding is available to voluntary and community organisations working in the Welsh Water service area to support projects that provide benefits to local communities.

The Community Fund provided and administered by Welsh Water (Dŵr Cymru) is inviting applications to support projects and activities that may include:

  • Improvements to the environment or local community initiatives promoting health, wellbeing and environmental objectives.
  • Activities undertaken by registered community groups – specifically with health, wellbeing, cost of living support and environmental objectives.
  • Improving and supporting local education activity, eg water efficiency, environmental, innovation benefits.

Applications will be accepted from non-profit organisations carrying out projects within the communities served by Welsh Water (comprising most of Wales and parts of Herefordshire and Deeside).

Examples of eligible organisations include:

  • Charitable trusts.
  • Registered charities.
  • Housing associations, sporting clubs and co-operatives.
  • Friendly societies – working men’s clubs, benevolent societies.
  • Unincorporated associations – self-help groups, small organisations.
  • Excepted charities.
  • Boy Scouts/Girl Guides/Beavers/Brownies.
  • Voluntary sector service providers.
  • Volunteer centres.
  • Schools.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available.

Projects must be completed within 12 months of grant award.
